EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Robin Cambier has been named Pac-12 men’s tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. The Brussels, Belgium, native has now claimed two-of-four conference weekly honors this spring.

Cambier posted a combined 3-0 record last week, leading the No. 51 Ducks (8-1) to a pair of 4-0 shutouts against Pacific and New Mexico.  Oregon has won five straight matches, while collecting shutouts in seven of its eight wins this season.

In doubles play, Cambier teamed with sophomore Kevin Farin to go 2-0 in the No. 1 position. They defeated Pacific’s Marlon Brand and Daniel Alameh, 8-4, on Saturday.  Cambier and Farin cruised past New Mexico’s Hayden Sabatka and Andrew Van Der Vyver on Sunday, winning eight games to two.

Cambier played at the No. 1 singles spot in both matches and meet two ranked opponents. He defeated No. 105 Sem Verbeek of Pacific in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0. Against the Lobo’s 45th-ranked Samir Iftikhar, Cambier won the first set 6-3 before the match was left unfinished in the second set when the team score is decided.

Cambier and Farin are 13-2 this season in doubles, with a 5-1 record in spring play at the No. 1 spot, and are ranked fifth in the Northwest region.  Cambier has a team-best 16-2 singles record this season and is riding a seven-match win streak. With 83 career singles wins, Cambier is one win away from tying the program record set by Sven Swinnen for all-time singles wins.

Next up for Cambier and the Ducks will be five straight matches at home, beginning with a match against UNLV on Feb. 23. Start time is set for 11 a.m. (PT) at the Student Tennis Center.
