EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men’s tennis team closed the 2014 season ranked third in the Northwest Region after posting a 17-9 record while advancing to the NCAA Championship for the first time in 10 years. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its final rankings of the season, Wednesday as the Ducks closed their banner season ranked 43rd in the nation.
Additionally, senior Robin Cambier will cap his illustrious career with a national ranking in both singles and doubles. After posting a 23-10 record, Cambier is ranked 75th in the nation and third in the region. Cambier and sophomore Kevin Farin earned the No. 55 national doubles ranking after posting the second-most wins in a season in UO history.
Farin and sophomore Daan Maasland made an appearance in the final regional singles ranking of the season, taking the No. 14 and 15 spots in the poll, respectively. Farin posted an 18-12 record competing in the top two positions while Maasland went 14-5 on the year, competing primarily in the No. 3 spot.
The ITA also announced pairings for the 2015 ITA Kick-Off Weekend, placing 60 teams into groups of four with a ticket to the ITA National Indoor Championship on the line. The Ducks were selected to North Carolina's group, which will also feature Alabama and Virginia Tech.
