TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 72 ranked University of Oregon women's tennis team defeated the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 6-1, on Monday (Mar. 26) in a neutral site match at the Whiteman Tennis Center on the campus of Arizona State University.

The Ducks (9-5, 0-4) finish their road trip to Arizona on a high note having lost their previous two duals to Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.

Oregon jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after sweeping the doubles point behind senior Trudie du Toit and junior Julia Metzger at No. 2 doubles.  The veteran tandem clinched the point for the Ducks by defeating NAU's Hannah Stone and Johanna Vang in impressive fashion, 8-1.

The Ducks continued their dominant play into the singles portion of the dual led by the top half of their rotation.  Junior Patricia Skowronski kept the scoring going by taking down Stone in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.  Skowronski was quickly followed by du Toit who defeated Northern Arizona's Malia Wahinepio, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.  Metzger rounded out the top three and clinched the dual for the Ducks defeating the Lumberjacks' Ghizelene Doballah 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.

All five of Oregon's singles victories came in straight sets.

Oregon next travels to Los Angeles, Calif. to take on USC and UCLA on Mar. 30 and 31, respectively.
