OJAI, Calif. – Pavlina Smatova and Patricia Skowronski completed its weekend at the Pac-10 Championships with a setback against a ranked doubles opponent on Friday.

The Oregon women’s tennis team’s top duo clashed against USC’s 77th-ranked Cristala Andrews and Alison Ramos in the morning looking to make up some ground in the national rankings. Instead, the Trojans’ pair dealt the two Ducks an 8-3 loss in the morning. UO’s pairing leaves the Pac-10 Championships with a 22-13 overall record.

Smatova (No. 107 in singles play) also worked in another singles match to conclude her weekend, taking on Washington’s Aleksandra Krsljanin in a put together match. The Ducks’ senior ended her stay on a high note by downing Krsljanin (6-4, 6-1) in straight sets.

The win was Smatova’s 23rd of the season, tying Katie Glynn for the sixth most in UO history. After the Pac-10 Championships, the Plzen, Czech Republic native carries a career record of 52-47 on the singles court and 50-46 in doubles play.
