Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off of the court. This week we feature Trudie du Toit, a 5-6 senior on the Women's Tennis Team.

Born in South Africa, Trudie moved with her family to Abbotsford, British Columbia at age 13. Her passion for tennis, a passion that would one day bring her to the University of Oregon, began as soon as she was able to hold a raquet.

Now finishing up her fourth year here at Oregon, Trudie sets the bar for an exceptionally well-rounded student-athlete. She is working to obtain a bachelor's degree from the UO School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) in Advertising and Electronic Media with a minor in Multimedia Studies.

In the 2010-2011 Trudie recieved the Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention and was named Pac-10 Player of the Week after winning 12-straight games against Vanja Radunovic (4-6, 6-0, 6-0) in a 4-3 upset win over No. 20 Washington (3/11).

Trudie's unmistakable presents in the classroom and on the tennis court transcend into her involvement with O Heroes. Most recently, she read with kids during the celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday.

After graduation, Trudie aspires to continue working with the community by getting involved with United Way. She hopes to freelance in order to raise awareness of the Untied Way group via promotions, communications and advertising.
