LAS VEGAS, Nev. – With the winds picking up down in Sin City, Wednesday’s contest at the Fertitta Tennis Complex was kept just to singles play as UNLV came out on top, 4-1, handing the Ducks another loss on the road. Sofia Hager was Oregon’s lone winner, defeating Iren Kotseva 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Oregon (7-8, 1-3 Pac-12) now has dropped five-straight matches on the road, and just 1-2 playing in neutral matches.

Nicole Long dropped her match at No. 1 singles to the Mountain West Conference’s reigning player of the week and 58th-ranked singles player, Lucia Batta.

Jasmine Minor woes continued after the junior dropped her No. 2 singles match to Aleksandra Josifoska 6-3, 6-3. Lana Buttner battled Santa Shumilina UNLV (8-7, 1-0 MWC) in the second set but eventually fell 6-0, 7-6.

Paola Artiga clinched the match for the Lady Rebels when she defeated Kadie Hueffner 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Allie Hueffner’s No. 5 singles match was suspended once the match was decided due to the high winds.

Oregon now heads to Los Angeles, Calif., to continue Pac-12 play against No. 12 USC at 1:30 p.m. (PT) on Friday, March 28. The Ducks play No. 2 UCLA at noon on Sunday, March 29, in a Pac-12 Networks televised match.
