LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Oregon women’s tennis road woes continue as the Ducks dropped their six-straight road match on Friday at Marks Stadium. The Ducks fell to the 12th-ranked Trojans of USC, 4-0, in straight sets.

USC (13-4, 4-0 Pac-12) dominated the Ducks in doubles action, winning both matches by a score of 8-1. Nicole Long and Jasmine Minor weren’t able to keep up with the Trojan’s Brynn Boren and Kaitlyn Christian at No. 1 doubles. Allie Hueffner and Kadie Hueffner played at doubles No. 3 against Gabriella DeSimone and Zoë Scandalis, but like Long and Minor, fell short.

Oregon (7-9, 1-4 Pac-12) didn’t fare much better in singles play, falling in straight sets to their Trojan counterparts. Sofia Hager was the first to bow out in singles play, after getting blanked by Gabriella DeSimone 6-0, 6-0. Long only manage to grab two games from 26th-ranked Zoë Scandalis at No. 1 singles, falling 6-0, 6-2. USC clinched the match behind the play of Boren who defeated Minor, 6-3, 6-3.

A. Hueffner – playing in the fourth singles position for the first time ever – faced her first ranked opponent since joining the collegiate ranks when she faced off against Giuliana Olmos, who is ranked No. 69 in the nation. The freshman was trailing Olmos 7-6, 2-1 when the match was clinched. Lina Åkesson trailed Christian 6-2, 2-0 at the time of suspension while K. Hueffner was trailing No. 90 Zoë Katz 6-3, 2-2 at singles No. 6.

Oregon wraps up its nine-day six-match road trip on Saturday, March 29, at noon when the Ducks play UCLA in a Pac-12 Networks televised match.
