EUGENE – The Oregon women’s lacrosse team was picked to finish fourth this season in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation preseason coaches’ poll as announced by the league office Friday morning. The Ducks garnered 53 points in the poll.

Last season’s MPSF Tournament champion, No. 20 Stanford, led the pack with 78 points and seven first-place votes. Last year’s regular season champion, No. 18 Denver, trailed the Cardinal by just four points with 74 points and two first-place votes. USC was the only other team to have received first-place votes with one and came out with a 66 total points.

UO wrapped up its 2013 season 8-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Ducks’ open their 2014 season on the road, beginning on Feb. 9 at Stetson followed by a neutral match against Coastal Carolina on Feb. 11.

Oregon’s first match at Papé Field is against Connecticut on March 14 at 4 p.m. followed by its conference opener versus Fresno State at 2 p.m. the following day.
