EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon Athletic Department has launched a redesigned GoDucks.com featuring a brand new media portal GoDucks.tv. The websites use the latest technology available to bring news and information to fans everywhere, while featuring a completely redesigned look to reflect UO’s commitment to being unique, innovative and exciting.
“We are extremely excited about the redesign of GoDucks.com, and the introduction of GoDucks.tv,” said Joe Giansante, UO’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Communication. “Technology is changing at an amazing pace, and this will allow us to take advantage of the growth in how content is created, delivered and consumed.”
The new sites will rely heavily on video-based content, team and coach blogs, and stories about UO student-athletes, teams and community service. Some of the major components of the new sites include: opportunities for fans to participate in auctions, purchase photos from games, buy tickets and Duck gear, participate in social networking and more.
“Oregon is a national brand and these bigger, better sites will help Duck fans worldwide feel more connected to their team and university, and to each other,” Giansante said.
GoDucks.tv features a new video player that eliminates software problems and provides easy access to standard and premium content, archives and more. It will also be the new video portal to find OZONE content, live game streams, coaches’ shows, replays and daily interviews of coaches and student-athletes.
“The heavy use of video, blogging from our coaches, student-athletes and administrators and comprehensive coverage of our own athletic contests puts us on the leading edge in service to our fans,” Giansante said.
GoDucks.tv is also home to the new “GoDucks LIVE with Jerry Allen” internet show which can be seen and heard free of charge weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. “GoDucks LIVE with Jerry Allen” is the first daily internet show of its kind in college athletics. It can also be heard in the local market on 1320 KSCR from 8 to 10 a.m., and on KUGN AM590 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show features weekly appearances by Oregon head football coach Chip Kelly and Oregon Athletic Director Mike Bellotti.
Oregon has partnered with NeuLion, formerly known as JumpTV, who manages sites for several other major athletic departments such as Georgia and Nebraska.
