‘Tis the season to be jolly!

While the holidays are right around the corner, the end of the Ducks reign on the football field also approaches. After several weeks at the top of the polls, the Ducks take a step back behind Auburn led by Heisman candidate, Cam Newton.

Surprisingly enough, this is not bad news for the Ducks. These numbers are complex calculations that will not mean anything on January 10, 2011 when two teams faceoff for the ultimate prize. However, this is too far in advance for the Ducks to focus.

Instead, the Ducks concentrate on the Oregon State Beavers who host the 2010 Civil War this Saturday at 12:30 P.M.

Season after season, Civil War has accumulated more on the line than simple bragging rights. Last year, the battle was fought for advancement to the Rose Bowl, but this year stakes are a lot higher. The Beavers have the opportunity of spoiling the Ducks’ first chance to advance to the National Championship.

Although the Ducks have already claimed the PAC-10 Championship for the second consecutive year, they look forward to this week’s battle in Corvallis.

In route to Glendale, Arizona, the Ducks focus on one day at a time. Preparing each day, the Ducks are locked and loaded to explode during Civil War.

Come support your Ducks as they prove there is nothing civil about war.

To the coaches and members of the football team, we wish you the best of luck as you determine your own fate!
