It was a way to say “thank you.” But this time it wasn’t merely University of Oregon fans patting student-athletes on the back but more so, the Ducks’ student-athletes offering their appreciation to those who help make their education a reality.

More than 175 donors, Oregon athletes and coaches were in attendance at Tuesday evening’s fourth annual Oregon Student-Athlete Scholarship Dinner, designed to allow the University’s student-athletes to connect with those financial contributors who endow scholarships that allow them to excel on the field and in the classroom.

The occasion, which was held in the University’s Ford Alumni Center, is the signature scholarship event sponsored by the Duck Athletic Fund – the lifeblood responsible for raising money for scholarships for more than 400 Oregon student-athletes.

Former Oregon Heisman Trophy finalist Joey Harrington offered insights as to the impact that the generosity of donors has played in his life a decade after he received his degree. Additional highlights included thanks from Athletic Director Rob Mullens, as well as thoughts from the football team’s 2011 co-Most Outstanding Player David Paulson and volleyball All-American Alaina Bergsma.
