Postgame Quotes
----------------------------------------------
Head Coach Paul Westhead
On tonight’s game:
“We were just okay in the first half. I feel like we were a little slow today, although we picked it up in the second half. The score was even in both halves (52-53) but the pace was better. Sunday we need to turn all the lights on.”
On senior point guard Laura Stanulis’ triple-double:
“At any level of basketball a triple-double doesn’t come every day. She’s our quarterback. She sets the pace of the game. I think she played very well.”
On comparing the performance of exhibition games:
“In both games we did some things better and we did some things worse. We played at a quicker pace last game. I looked out tonight and saw some tired players. We’re not at the pace we need to be at yet. We’re not fast enough and we’re not fast for long enough.”
On freshman forward Jillian Alleyne and her double-double tonight:
“She is a bright young player. She has exceptional talent as a freshman, we are just trying to channel it.”

Lexi Petersen – So, G.
On tonight’s game:
“We came out a bit slow. At the end the first half, D Lo (Danielle Love) had a steal that topped off our run and it made us come out harder and more active on defense in the second half.”
On improving the team:
“Our running needs to be more consistent. We’re learning how to run and do the fast break system every time down the court.”
On whether or not she considers herself a leader on the team:
“I think the great thing about our team is that we all look to each other for different aspects of leadership. We look to Laura (Stanulis) for her point guard skills. D Lo (Danielle Love) is more of a vocal leader. So we all look to each other for different roles.”

Laura Stanulis – Fr., G
On her triple-double tonight:
“It was my first triple-double ever. It’s exciting. I was just trying to push the ball. My job is to get the ball and go. I was just trying to help us find a spark. I wanted to help get the team going.”
On tonight’s game:
“It was a good test to see what the season will be like. Sunday will be the ultimate test. We are all looking forward to it. It’s exciting.”
