Who can join the Duck Athletic Fund/how do I become a member?

Anyone interested in assisting our student-athletes with their education and their athletic experience at the University of Oregon may donate to the Duck Athletic Fund.  You can donate online at GoDucks.com or call 541.346.5433. A donation of $50 or more will qualify you as a member and allow you to receive various benefits listed in our brochure, including access to the Ticket Marketplace, our on-line service offered exclusively to donors, allowing secure ticket sales and purchases among other donors.

Do I have to purchase a season ticket to be member?

We have many donors that do not purchase tickets.  Anyone who is interested may donate and become a member, knowing that they have assisted the University of Oregon with the financial needs of the student-athletes.

How much do I need to donate to become a member?

A donation of $50 or more allows you to receive emails and other notices from the athletic department.  A lesser amount may be given, but does not qualify the donor for electronic news and other benefits.

Do I need to make a separate gift if I want both football and men's basketball season tickets?

If you want to have priority seating in both football and men's basketball, separate donations are needed.  Women's basketball has no seating requirement at this time. There are a limited number of non-priority seats in Autzen Stadium and many in Matthew Knight Arena.  Please contact the Duck Ticket Office or the Duck Athletic Fund with questions.

Are DAF contributions tax-deductible?

80% of the amount designated for priority seating is tax deductible and 100% of money not designated for priority seating is deductible, per IRS Code Section 170(l).  Because everyone's tax situation varies, we strongly recommend that donors consult a tax advisor on the deductibility of gifts to the DAF.

How can someone spread out their DAF annual contribution?

Duckbills is a great option for donors that may need to spread their contribution out over 12 months (2011 calendar year) vs. maintaining the 2 DAF payment deadlines. Duckbills is an electronic fund transfer from the donor's checking account to the DAF.  People on duckbills do not need to worry about the 2 DAF deadlines, but they should be aware that if they are requesting seat or parking changes or improvements their priority points will be based on the amounts received by the date of calculation April 29th and August 1st .  Please contact the DAF for more information.

How does the matching gift program work?

Many companies match their employee's donations, but some do not match to athletics.  Check with your human resources department about your company's matching gift policy and have them supply you with a matching gift form.  Some companies may also do on-line matches.  All forms will need to be submitted to the DAF.  If you have further questions, please contact the DAF at 541/346-5433.

What are the deadlines for making a contribution?

You can make a donation anytime of the year. However for seat benefits, 50% of your DAF contribution is due on April 29, 2011 and the second half/full payment of your DAF annual contribution is due on August 1, 2011.

Do the DAF payment deadlines still apply for matching gifts?

Donors must ensure that DAF payment deadlines are met, regardless of whether or not the gift is being matched by a company.  If a matching gift is not received by the deadline, then the donor is responsible for the balance due.

Do restricted gifts count toward DAF seating and parking?

Restricted gifts (endowments, sport-specific gifts, etc.) increase priority points but do not satisfy the annual requirement for the Duck Athletic Fund seating or parking benefits.

Are any automatic payment options available to make my DAF contribution?

A number of automatic payment options are offered:

  1. Automatic credit card deduction;
  2. DuckBills (automatic monthly withdrawals from your bank account);
  3. Payroll deduction (UO employees only).

While payment plans are available, keep in mind that making full payment by the April deadline for football benefits will maximize your number of priority points and is preferred.  Please note your payment option before returning your membership application to the DAF.

How can I improve the location of my football or basketball seats?

Seat turnover is traditionally extremely low, therefore seating improvements are difficult to achieve.  Keep the following points in mind if you wish to request improvement:

  1. Improvements are based on customers releasing their current seats and are awarded in priority point order.  The number of years requesting improvement has no bearing and requests are not carried over from year to year.
  2. Requests for seating changes must be made in writing and attached to your season ticket renewal application or online in the space provided.
  3. In order to be considered for seats in donor areas, your DAF contribution must meet or exceed the annual per seat giving level for the sections you have requested.
  4. Make full payment of your DAF gift by the April deadline.  Because priority points are calculated based on donations not pledges, you earn the maximum number of points by completing your DAF giving prior to the April deadline, thus increasing the likelihood of improving your seats.

Why are Priority Points important?

Priority points are used to reward longtime supporters of Oregon Athletics while allowing new donors to acquire appropriate seating and parking benefits in recognition of their support of student-athlete scholarships. Priority points are calculated for football based on donations received by the April 29th deadline and then recalculated for men's basketball after the August 1st deadline. Priority points are then also recalculated for football post-season play based on donations received after October 28, 2011.

How can I increase my number of priority points?

The best way to increase your priority points is to increase your annual contribution to the Duck Athletic Fund and to support athletic endowments.  Priority points are calculated based on the following formula: one point for every $10.00 of current year giving, one point for every $100.00 of lifetime giving (prior donations to DAF, endowments, sport-specific gifts, etc) and one point for every consecutive year of season ticket purchase.   We therefore recommend donating the full amount of your gift by the April deadline in order to maximize your priority points for the allocation of football benefits.

How can I guarantee secured seats in a particular section?

We cannot guarantee seats in any section.

Are my seats automatically upgraded if better seats become available?

No. Written requests are required for any move in seating location. If different seating is desired, attach a written request to your season ticket renewal or online in the space provided.  Seating preferences are very subjective, so please be as specific as possible and include as many options as possible.

What can I do to get some or all of my season tickets transferred to a friend's name?

Forms are available through the ticket office. Both parties' signatures will be required.

I would like to request some single game tickets, how does the process work and how can I improve my chances?

When you receive your season ticket renewal or donor request form, there will be an opportunity to request single game tickets for all football home and away games.  Be sure to fill out the application properly and if ordering online remember to put in your full request for all possible tickets.  Once orders have been completed and submitted, no adjustments will be made.  All requests will be filled in priority point order and priority points for single game tickets will be based on donations received by April 24th .  Previous point totals have been listed online at www.goducks.com .  Please have the donor check out our ticketing pages for this information or contact the Duck Athletic Fund for more information.

How can I remove or add my spouse to my account?

A form is available through the Eugene DAF
