The 59th-ranked Oregon Ducks lost a 5-2 match on the road to Colorado on Friday afternoon.
BOULDER, Colo. -- The 59th-ranked Oregon Ducks lost a 5-2 match on the road to Colorado on Friday afternoon.
The Ducks fell to 11-5 and 1-4 in the Pac-12 with the loss while Colorado improved to 7-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Patricia Skowronski and Nicole Long posted the lone Oregon win in doubles play with an 8-4 win the No.1 match but Colorado was able to take two-of-three in the other matches to grab a 1-0 edge.
In singles play, Colorado won four-of-six matches to seal the victory.
"We definitely let one slip in the doubles and it cost us today," said head coach Paul Reber. "I didn't think we played badly we just had some girls missing balls by a few inches and I think that can be attributed to the altitude up here. Colorado is a tough place to play, but give credit to the Buffaloes as they played well to beat us."
Oregon's singles victories were earned by senior Julia Metzger, her 12th consecutive win, in the No. 3 match (6-3, 6-4) and junior Rabea Stueckemann, who won 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 6 match.
The Ducks will stay on the road for Sunday's match at Utah. Match time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
