MONMOUTH, Ore. –  Laura Bobek won the discus to lead the second-ranked Oregon women Friday at the John Knight Twilight.

The junior from Astoria, Ore., had a best throw of 169-7.75/51.70m, which was less than three feet off her personal best.

Ryan Hunter-Simms set a personal best in the shot put to highlight the meet for the fourth-ranked men.

Hunter-Simms, a freshman from Highland, Calif., opened with a throw of 51-8.5/15.76m in the shot put to finish second. He followed that with a toss of 157-2.5/47.91m in the discus, which was good for third.

Ron Perkins also had a personal best in the shot put. The sophomore from Redmond, Ore., finished third with a throw of 51-1.5/15.58m.

Rachel Sherrell scored another PR for the Ducks in the women’s javelin. The junior from Parkdale, Ore., had a best mark of 145-0/44.19m to place third.

Jillian Weir just missed a personal best and placed second in the women's hammer. The sophomore from Sunnyvale, Calif., went 189-10.25/57.86m, which was less than three feet off her personal best. She also finished third in the discus with a throw of 150-6/45.88m.

Senior Miles Walk took second in the men’s hammer with a throw of 187-4.25/57.10m.

On the track, freshman Trent Warren won the second section of the men’s 800 meters in 1:55.96. Former Duck Andrew Wheating, now with the Oregon Track Club Elite, won the top section in 1:50.75 in his 2013 debut.

Senior Hank Morrison ran sixth in the 1,500 meters in 3:57.73.
