Oregon Head Coach Mark Helfrich
On the scoring system…
“Obliviously the head coach’s scoring system was inept. But I’m just happy the guys competed hard and that no one was injured during the game. Especially thankful no one was hurt considering the live kickoffs and punts. Overall, mission accomplished.”

On fans…
“Our fans are amazing. They try to limit them and hold them back but they always show up. Awesome effort by everyone all around, I even heard the fans broke the can food record which is fantastic.”

On Marcus (Mariota)…
“He was clean and did a nice job. During the second quarter there was a stagnate play and he made sure to get after everyone in the huddle. Just shows he is progressing, taking the next step in his maturity.”

On Jake Rodriguez and Jeff Lockie
“They both did some good things and also made some day one mistakes. Both took some solid steps forward.”

On how the offense dominated today…
“It was just one of those days when things were just clicking offensively. Other days it has been the opposite and we’ve seen the defense really stand out. Out on defense we have a lot of new linebackers and many starters didn’t play too many series so I wouldn’t read too much into it.”

Running Backs Coach Gary Campbell
On today’s game plan…
“I wanted to get my backs all some time, but limited amounts for the starters.”

On today’s rushing performance…
“Guys play better and faster when they’re confident on the field.”

On Byron Marshall
“Byron has improved a lot this Spring. I’m proud of him. I thought he was a little out of shape at the beginning of Spring, but he’s gotten himself in shape and could easily get in every-down condition.”
“It’s one thing to be able to run and catch a ball, but doing it consistently for an extended amount of time is what’s most important.”

On preparing for the season…
“I think my guys have progressed really well. Obviously we’re not there yet, but I’m pleased with where we’re at.”

#11 WR Bralon Addison
On the experience…
“We all came out and competed which was great. The defense has torn us up at times this spring, but the scoring system didn’t give them enough credit today. It was great to catch a lot of passes. The system is all about getting the ball into spaces and I think we did that today.”

On Marcus’ (Mariota) performance…
“He amazes us too. When we on are the field it is amazing to see the progress he has made. He is so serious and we all say, ‘Wow. This guy is good.’ Jake and Jeff have definitely learned a lot from him.”

#31 DB Oshay Dunmore
Discussing the day as a whole…
“It was a great day. I just woke up this morning and tried to treat it like any other practice. I wanted to read my keys and play confidently. It feels like it has been a year since I actually had pads on and played a game, so this felt great.”

On the defense’s performance…
“It’s the defense’s job to beat everyone through effort. I think everyone gave it their all which is what it is all about. Lining up correctly is something we will have down by the fall. Everyone was flying around which is always good to see.”

#8 QB Marcus Mariota
On preparing for the season…
“I’m really looking forward to fall. I’m planning on going out there and getting better every day.”

On the team’s performance…
“Once we got the jitters out and got in a rhythm, everything was rolling. It’s hard to stop us once we get in a rhythm.”

On motivating his teammates…
“Some of the guys were nervous about making mistakes. It was the first time playing in front of such a big crowd for a lot of my teammates, so I wanted them to just get out there and have fun.”

#90 DT Ricky Havili-Heimuli
On his younger teammates…
“A lot of the young guys really stepped up today. They still have a ways to go, but their future is looking bright.”

On the team’s performance…
“I thought we played pretty well, there was some miscommunication, but we just have some minor kinks to fix in the chain.”

#9 RB Byron Marshall
On replacing Kenjon Barner
“Someone good will always be playing in front of you. I’ve got big shoes to fill, but all you can do is go out and play.”

#9 DL Arik Armstead
On the Spring Game atmosphere…
“It was fun putting on a show for the fans and the troops.”

#3 QB Jake Rodrigues
On competing to be the second-string QB…
“Right now, I’m just going to keep working. We’ll see come fall if I’m the number two guy.”
