Ranked among the school's top-10 career rushers and scorers for three decades, the three year starter led the Pacific Coast Conference in rushing (726 yards) and the team in scoring (60 points) in 1949. Accumulated 1,358 career yards and scored a touchdown in Oregon's 21-13 loss to SMU in the 1949 Cotton Bowl.
