Wally Johansen

It was ironic that Wally Johansen's athletic career would take him alongside teammate Bobby Anet from his days as an Astoria junio high scholar to the 1939 NCAA championship. Yet the 6-2 shooting guard stood alone by earning first-team Northern Division and Pacific Coast Conference honors. Ascending to the position of president of the Oregon State Bar in 1968, the Coos Bay attorney had his number 32 jersey retired by the University of Oregon following the national championship season.
