Hollis Huntington
Hall of Fame Inductee
Coach Info:
Position: Hall of Fame Inductee
Other Position: 1994 Inductee, Football (1916-1919)

He was an outstanding athlete with an amazing record. He is one of only three men to play every minute in three different Rose Bowl games. Only two of those contests were with Oregon, but he was one of the Ducks’ leading rushers over his three-year career and a member of an imposing backfield that opposing coaches praised and feared during the 1919 season. He paired with his brother to boost Oregon to a 1917 Rose Bowl victory, then was back in Pasadena three years later
while playing for Shy.

Although he paced the Ducks’ superior offensive weapons with 122 yards in 29 carries, Oregon lost the 1920 game to Harvard. He had scored four touchdowns against Idaho and was instrumental in a victory at Washington, the triumph that ultimately put the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. He gained more than 100 yards in the 1918 Pasadena game as well, earning playing of the game honors in leading the Mare Island Marines to victory. He returned to school after the war.
