Phil McHugh
Position: Hall of Fame Inductee
Other Position: 2004 Inductee, Football (1953-57)

One of the best tight ends to ever have put on an Oregon uniform, Phil McHugh possessed an athletic prowess few have ever matched. With a webfoot career lasting from 1953-1957, McHugh was a three-time letterwinner and two-time co-captain. A two-time Pacific Coast Conference selection, McHugh finished his Oregon career with 37 catches for 468 yards and one touchdown. McHugh also was a regular on the basketball team, winning letters in 1954-55 and 1955-56, while becoming the team’s captain during the 1956-57 season. A tough competitor off the field as well, McHugh received multiple sholarships based on his performance in the classroom.
