Sophomore defender Achijah Berry came up big off the bench for the Ducks in their 1-0 upset against No. 18 Washington State last Sunday at Papé Field.
Berry was subbed into the game after almost 18 minutes of scoreless action to score her first career goal for the Ducks just minutes later. It would prove to be all that Oregon needed to beat the Cougars.
The win was the first for the Ducks over a ranked opponent since they defeated then-No. 21 ranked Denver during the 2009 season. It also came on the heels of a toughly contested 1-1 tie with rival Washington on Friday. The performances improved the Ducks' record to 8-7-2, with a 3-4-1 record in Pac-12 play.
On the season, Berry has also tallied an assist to go along with her first goal through 14 games played. Look for Achijah and the rest of the Oregon Soccer team to build off their momentum as they host No. 1 Stanford next weekend.
