2009: All-West Coast Conference Team / Freshman of the Year. Made an immediate breakthrough on collegiate scene, even after a hip injury limited her practice each week of the season. Collegiate Volleyball Update rewarded her with a spot on the 18-person 'Rising Stars' national all-freshman team at season's end (a squad that featured only one current Pac-10 player). Was the only freshman chosen to the All-WCC Team and was a WCC All-Freshman Team and WCC Freshman of the Year honoree, too (and LMU's only pick on either squad. She ended the season ranked ninth nationally in points (5.24 per set), 14th overall (and second among freshman) in kills (4.47 per set) and 45th in service aces (0.40). The team’s leader in all three categories, she led the WCC in double-doubles (11, including six in WCC action), and ranked second in the WCC in kills (4.47 kps), points (5.24 pps), service aces (0.40 saps). Raised her play in league play stat categories, and paced the WCC in points (5.64, 254) and kills (4.96 kps, 223), and ranked second in aces (0.36 saps, 45). In early November, had the league's third- and fourth-highest kill tallies (32 in five sets vs. Gonzaga; 28 in three sets vs. Portland - a league three-set season high by seven kills) to earn WCC Player of the Week laurels. The next match, added 28 kills in five sets vs. San Diego - the sixth-best mark in the league in '09. Also logged the league's third- and fifth-highest kill tallies for three sets at Arkansas (20) and at Pacific (18), and its fourth-best, four-set kill mark vs. San Francisco (24). Tied for conference high in aces (6) in five-setter vs. Cal State Northridge, and added its fourth-best mark (5) in five-setter vs. San Diego. Her 36.5 points vs. USD was second-best in the WCC in '09 and one point shy of the conference high. She also logged the WCC’s fourth- and sixth-best point tallies vs. Gonzaga (35) and Portland (29.5) in her Player of the Week performances. She also turned in the league's two best three-set point tallies vs. UP (29.5) and Arkansas (24), its fifth-best, four-set mark (25.5) and its second- and fourth-best, five-set tallies (36.5 vs. USD and 35 vs. Gonzaga). Twice was honored as the Collegiate Volleyball Update Top Performer. The first honor came on Sept. 1 after the second week of her collegiate career after her efforts in three sets vs. Grambling State (11 kills, .409, 4 blocks, 6 digs, 4 blocks, 2 aces), three sets vs. Arkansas (20 kills, .600, 3 aces, 8 digs, 2 blocks, 24 points) and in four sets at TCU (15 kills, .205, 10 digs, 1 block, 2 aces, 17.5 points). The other CVU honor came after her play in three sets at St. Mary’s (11 kills, 5 digs, 11.5 points) and in three sets at San Diego (15 kills, 3 digs, 16 points). Altogether at season’s end, logged +10 kills in 23 of  her 29 matches (including eight with +20), hit .300 or better in seven matches (including four at .400 or higher), served multiple aces in 10 matches (including three or more four times), and came up with +10 digs in 11 contests.
