PERSONAL — Born Javes Ulysses Lewis Jr. on Dec. 11, 1989 in Nuremburg, Germany. Parents: Javes Lewis Sr. and Ganine Owens. Family: One brother, one sister. High School: Tustin 2007. Major: Undeclared. Redshirt: 2007.

2009 — Consistency has been one of the themes for the first-year starter as Oregon's leading tackler (66) has averaged 6.6 tackles per game to rank ninth in the Pac-10 . . . Broke into the starting lineup with a career-high nine tackles at Boise State, and equaled that effort (including 7 unassisted) at UCLA . . . Yet bettered those marks sharing a game-high 12 tackles at Stanford . . . Also shared team's top honors with seven stops at Washington, in addition to picking off one pass and breaking up another . . . Started the Ducks' first seven games at rover before shifting to cornerback for two appearances . . . Returned to his familiar safety outpost vs. Arizona State . . . Tied for 13th in the league in passes defended (6) . . . Added six stops (and one tackle of loss) the second week of the season vs. Purdue . . . Effort against the Boilermakers highlighted by scooping up a fumble and returning it 28 yards for a touchdown . . . Led the team with 5 tackles and a pair of pass breakups vs. California before earning 4 stops (all unassisted) and his first career interception against Washington State . . . Outing against the Bruins included a pair of tackles for loss.

2008 — Reserve defensive back ranked 14th in tackles with 19 (12 unassisted) … Made five tackles in a pair of Pac-10 contests - at Washington State and vs. Arizona … Credited with three pass breakups at Cal … Appeared in all 13 games, eclipsing 30 plays on four occasions …Played 45 snaps at both WSU and Arizona State.

2007 —
Redshirt season … Honored as the scout team player of the week on special teams leading up to the win vs. Washington State.

HIGH SCHOOL —
A running back and safety in high school, he racked up 1,480 yards rushing on 178 carries, 417 yards receiving and 27 total touchdowns in 2006 … Also had six interceptions on defense … Had 887 yards on 140 rushing attempts and 12 TDs during his junior season, in addition to four receptions for 169 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown catch in 2005. Considered a wide receiver prospect by Scout.com out of high school.
