PERSONAL — Born Riley William Showalter on March 13, 1987 in Portland, Ore. Parents: Richard and Maureen Showalter. Family: Three brothers, one sister. High School (Coach): Central Catholic (Steve Pyne), 2005. Major: Business Administration. Redshirt: 2005.

2009 — Named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second team ... Special teams standout for the Ducks ... Appeared in eight games, tallying five tackles and playing a season-high 30 snaps against Cal ... Injured his hand in the middle of the season, missing four games.

2008 —
Former walk-on lettered for the second straight season, appearing in all 13 games … Credited with tackles on eight occasions, including two apiece at Washington State and Oregon State … Also broke up a pass against the Cougars … Had one tackle and played a season-high 42 snaps at USC … Recognized for his work in the classroom, earning honorable mention academic all-conference acclaim.

2007 — Earned his first letter, appearing in eight games and recording a pair of tackles … Credited with his first collegiate tackle vs. Arizona State … Had one solo stop at Arizona … Stepped onto the field for most of his opportunities on special teams … Never played less than 14 snaps in any of the final five games, including a season-high 20 vs. South Florida in the Sun Bowl.

2006 —
Improved all facets of his game in the off-season to earn a spot back on the roster for a second year.

2005 — Redshirted his first year, earning team’s weekly scout team honors for special teams play in the week leading up to the win over Washington.

HIGH SCHOOL — Lettered in football, basketball, track and golf at Portland’s Central Catholic … Helped the team advance to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs in 2005 after missing the postseason entirely in 2004 … Was a sprinter and hurdler on the track squad and ran anchor leg of the 4x100.
