PERSONAL — Born Blake Daniel Ferras on Nov. 10, 1986 in San Jose, Calif. Parents: Dan and Liza Ferras. Family: One brother. High School (Coach): Leland (Kelly Edwards) 2005. Junior College (Coach): City College of San Francisco (George Rush) 2007. Major: Sociology.

2009 — Has made a remarkable turnaround since his initial year at the Division I level, accumulating 30 tackles and 3.5 tackles-for-loss as a 10-game starter . . . Posted five tackles in his starting debut at Boise State before adding a season-best six stops the following week vs. Purdue . . . Credited with a pass break up and 0.5 QB sacks at UCLA in addition to be a part of the goal-line stand that prevented the Bruins from penetrating the end zone three times from the 1 yard line . . . Contributed four stops vs. USC and Arizona State.

2008 — Appeared in seven games as a reserve on the defensive line … Played 21 snaps vs. Arizona and 19 at Washington State … Posted his lone tackle against the Wildcats … Arrived on campus in time for spring practices, but missed the majority of drills with an ankle sprain.
 
BEFORE OREGON —
The three-star Rivals.com and Scout.com prospect captained CCSF in 2007 and was one of the defensive anchors for a program that won the California community college state championship and was crowned junior college national champions at end of 2007 season … Teammate of Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli with the Rams … Was credited with 25 tackles, eight tackles for loss and four quarterback sacks in 10 games, including a season-high six stops and three TFLs in state championship win over Mt. San Antonio College … Also recovered three fumbles in opener vs. Solano … The Leland HS co-leader in sacks (4.0) as a prep senior was the team’s fourth leading tackler, posting 79 tackles, and recovering one fumble … The Chargers’ most valuable defensive player was a first-team all-Santa Teresa League choice following the 2004 campaign … Was selected to play in the Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game, where he blocked an extra point in helping the South All-Stars clinch a come-from-behind victory … Began his collegiate career at Idaho in 2005 before transferring to CCSF in 2006.
