Oregon senior Galen Rupp, has been named GoDucks.com's student-athlete of the week for the week of November 24th - November 30th.

Oregon senior Galen Rupp anchored the Oregon Men's Cross Country Team to their 2nd straight National Championship Monday morning in Terre Haute, Indiana.  The 4th year pace setter ran for a first place finish at the LaVerne Gibson Cross Country Course for a time of 29:03.20.  The Pac-10 and NCAA West Regional champion secured his first individual national title for his career by edging out Samuel Chelanga in the last 400 meters to bring home his first individual NCAA Cross Country Championship.  Galen raced neck and neck with Chelanga of Liberty, and managed to win the race 5 seconds ahead of him.  Head Coach Vin Lananna was quoted after the race, "Whether they ran for 20th place, 25th place, or first place we worked together as a team. They did a fantastic job. These guys did great all season. It’s a big deal for us and we’re thrilled to be in the same position as last year as champions.”  Galen will graduate this year with a major in Business Administration.
