School Record (DMR)

Veteran runner came on late in the 2009 season and was a finalist in the 1,500 meters at both the 2009 NCAA Track Championships and the USA Track & Field Championships. Season best of 3:41.15 is just :02 shy of Oregon’s career top 10. Also broke the 4:00 mile mark for the first time in his career (3:59.87) during the summer of ’09. 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier at 1,500 meters. Joined the program in the spring of 2008 after posting impressive marks at Lane Community College.

2009-10: Cross Country: Great race in his Pac-10 championships debut, closing late to finish eighth overall (23:21.14) as Oregon's No. 3 runner. Made Oregon cross country debut at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. Capped fall with his first NCAA Championships appearance.

2008-09: After getting a late start to the spring season due to minor injuries, came on strong at the NCAA West Regional, NCAA Championships and USA Track & Field Championships. Gutsy fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meters in 3:43.10 at the NCAA West Regional to earn his first trip to the NCAA Championships. Put together two solid performances in Fayetteville where he ran 3:42.09 in his preliminary heat before taking 11th in the final in 3:42.42. At the USA Track & Field Championships, just missed a PR and the school’s career top-10 list with a preliminary 1,500 of 3:41.15. In the national final, placed 10th in 3:46.08. Did not run in cross country. Also notched a career highlight when he broke the 4:00 mile barrier at an all-comers’ meet in July, crossing the tape in 3:59.87. Indoors, ran lead leg of Oregon’s record-setting distance medley relay team (9:29.39) at the UW Indoor Invitational in January. Season Bests: Outdoors - 1,500 Meters - 3:41.15, USA Track & Field Championships, Eugene, Ore. (6/25/09); Mile - 3:59.87, OTC All-Comers’ Meet, Eugene, Ore. (7/16/09). Indoors - Mile - 4:06.03, New Balance Invitational, New York, N.Y. (2/7/09).

2007-08: Ran season-best 3:47.20 in the 1,500 meters and finished second to help Oregon defeat UCLA in their dual meet. Also an NCAA West Regional qualifier in the 1,500. Placed 10th in his preliminary heat at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials. Season Bests: Outdoors - 1,500 Meters - 3:47.20, Oregon-UCLA dual meet, Eugene, Ore. (4/19/08).

Before Oregon: Competing for Lane Community College, finished 13th in the 10,000 meters (30:55) at the USA Club Cross Country Championships after he won the NWAACC cross country title in the fall of 2007. On track as a sophomore the previous spring (2007), won conference 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters titles. During season, he ran personal bests in the 800 meters (1:52.29), 1,500 meters (3:41.13), 5,000 meters (14:09.01) and 10,000 meters (29:36.33). As a freshman, competed in cross country for the University of Washington and ran at the NCAA Championships (224th), Pac-10 (54th) and West Regional (51st). Owned an indoor 5,000 meter track best of 14:17.19 from the 2006 Last Chance Qualifier. Did not compete in the outdoor season.

Prep: Placed third in Washington state championships as a senior in 2005 in the 1,600 meters (4:16.6) and 3,200 meters (9:19). Owned prep bests in the 1,600 and 3,200 of 4:15.17 and 9:05.32, respectively.
