EUGENE, Ore. -- Six-time NCAA Champion Galen Rupp capped his Oregon career with his school-record 13th and 14th All-America awards, as announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Rupp was one of 15 Ducks to earn All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Championships.
Joining Rupp on the All-America rolls were Oregon’s other four national champions, Ashton Eaton in the decathlon, Brianne Theisen in the heptathlon, Andrew Wheating in the men’s 800 meters and Rachel Yurkovich in the women’s javelin.
The men also garnered All-America honors for Cyrus Hostetler in the javelin, Shadrack Biwott in the 5,000 meters, Marshall Ackley in the decathlon, Luke Puskedra in the 10,000 meters and Alex Wolff in the javelin.
For the women, Nicole Blood was a selection for her runner-up finish in the 5,000 meters, as was Jamesha Youngblood in the long jump, Keshia Baker in the 400 meters, Kalindra McFadden in the heptathlon and Mattie Bridmon in the 10,000 meters.
