Photo Blog
Wednesday, September 16, 4:00 p.m. PDT

Since the Ducks remain home for the better part of a month and there are no Road Wrap blog opportunities until mid October, I'll attempt to do a photo blog after each home game, starting with Purdue. As always, our man on the sidelines, Eric Evans, delivered some great shots.

It didn't take long for fans to get into the spirit of the home opener.

Where I'm from DuckVision would be considered wicked awesome, among other adjectives.

LeGarrette Blount was all smiles before the game.

The Duck makes a young fan's day during pregame festivities

Chip Kelly chats up Purdue receivers coach Brian Rock.

Just kickin' it. The specialists gather as Jackson Rice singles out snapper Jeff Palmer, who would later make his debut.

Here come the Ducks. Andrew Iupati was one of a handful of true freshmen in full uniform vs. Purdue.

Jeremiah Masoli doesn't worry about his hat and protects the football early in the game.

Redshirt freshman John Boyett, UO's third-leading tackler in 2009, made his first career start on Saturday.

It's been a long road for Nate Costa, who saw the field for the first time in 1,035 days.

Is it just me or are head-only mascots kind of disturbing?

The Oregon defense has been on the field for what amounts to 1.5 full games this season.

It's a bird .. It's a plane .. It's, uh, Mark Asper!

Javes Lewis scoops and scores, one of two defensive touchdowns for the Ducks.

President Lariviere was one of the first to congratulate coach on his first career victory.

Kelly's first victory was also a first for the Bellotti administration.

With the 24-hour celebration rule in effect, the Ducks made the most of it before switching their focus to Utah.
