Alumni Game
Friday, October 10, 2008
Friday wasn’t a normal practice day for the University of Oregon baseball team.
With the return of baseball after a 27-year hiatus, the Oregon baseball program welcomed back former players for the Alumni Game on Friday.

As emerging PK Park continues to undergo construction for the 2009 opener, 60 alumni as well as current Oregon players enjoyed a day at on the diamond at Thurston High School.
Oregon’s oldest alumnus in attendance was Hal Zurcher from the class of 1948. Hal was celebrating his 83rd birthday with the Ducks.
The festivities started at noon with batting practice and warm-ups, before the first pitch had the game going at 3 p.m.
Despite the cooler temperatures, the alumni had a significant group of fans in attendance to cheer them on.
The Oregon baseball team has been practicing since Sept. 15, with the 2008 recruiting class receiving two top-10 nods. Last month Collegiate Baseball ranked the class No. 2 in the nation, while Baseball America ranked the Ducks at No. 10.
