SUMMER 2009 Helped the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League to the 2009 NWL Championship Title with a 2-1 series win over the La Crosse Loggers…in 19 games for Rochester hit .245 with eight RBIs, one double, two triples, two home runs, a .453 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage.
AS A SOPHOMORE • 2009 Appeared in 51 games for Oregon, starting 41...split time with Eddy Rodriguez and Paul Eshleman behind the plate...made 34 starts as Oregon’s catcher and five starts at designated hitter...batted .216 (33-for-153) with 18 RBIs (second on the team), 12 walks, eight runs scored, seven doubles and one home run...defensively committed six errors, posting a .979 fielding percentage, while totaling 31 assists...also caught 14-of-32 (.696) base runners stealing...tied for the team lead with four multiple-RBI games, and also tied for third on the team with seven two-out RBIs...with runners on third and less than two outs, hit .400 (6-for-15) and had a .403 success rate advancing runners...recorded his first multiple-RBI performance in 12-3 victory over Santa Clara (3/7), hitting 3-for-5 with four RBIs, one run scored and a two-run homer - his first of the season...was 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the Ducks’ 3-0 victory at Nevada (3/14)...was responsible for the game-tying and go-ahead runs by lacing a full-count, one-out, bases-clearing double in the bottom of the eighth during Oregon’s 6-4 victory over Washington (3/21)...helped Oregon to its 2-1 victory over Stanford (4/3) with an RBI single to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead in the second...at top-ranked UC Irvine (4/21) was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
PRIOR TO OREGON Played the 2008 season at Fresno City College... an all-NorCal selection, was also named to the Central Valley Conference team...Fresno City’s starting catcher, helped lead the team to a 37-11 record...playing in 46 games, was ninth in the conference batting .355 on the year with 59 hits, 39 RBI, 11 doubles, 4 home runs and 22 walks.
HIGH SCHOOL A 2007 graduate of Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif...lettered two years for head coach Tom Donald behind the plate...helped the Bears win the 2006 Valley championship...also was awarded the Buchanan Bear award and was named to the honor roll.
