Ducks Top NCU in Exhibition Opener

Oregon off to well-rounded start as all players score in their 89-36 win
EUGENE, Ore. - The Ducks dominated across the board Saturday night in their first game of the season to rout Northwest Christian 89-36. Every player suited up earned playing time and put points on the board.
How It Happened: Both the Ducks and the Beacons had a shaky start to the first half, totaling 23 turnovers and seven fouls. However, Oregon gained momentum as time went on and finished the half with a 26-point lead. Kelly Graves rotated through the entire roster to his advantage as 28 of Oregon's 44 points came from the bench in the first half.
Oregon rallied in the second quarter, holding NCU to a mere eight-percent shooting on field goals. NCU didn't score in the last eight minutes of the 10-minute second quarter. Mar'Shay Moore led the Ducks going 4-4 in the first half while scoring nine points, and Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard both had five rebounds.
Oregon came out strong in the second half and put up 45 more points to NCU's 18. The Ducks became more organized offensively in the third quarter, turning the ball over only three times with no fouls. Maite Cazorla got a steal and increased the Ducks' lead with a layup, while Lexi Bando scored her first basket of the game with a three-pointer, kicking off a 20-4 run. Bando went on to sink three more triples in the third quarter, leading the Ducks in shooting in the second half. In total, the Ducks shot 37-66 from the paint, NCU only shooting 12-50.
Spreading the Wealth: All 13 players scored on the night. The freshmen shined in this game; Morgan Yaeger led in scoring with 15 points and Mallory McGwire grabbed seven rebounds. Lexi Bando hit a game-high four three-pointers.
