NFL #ProDucks: Week 8

As the midway point of the NFL regular season approaches, 24 #ProDucks are on the 53-man rosters of 16 NFL teams with 18 active in Week 8. Additionally, two #ProDucks are on practice squads, five are on the Injured/Reserved list and one is on the Active/Non Football Injury list.
Marcus Mariota was stellar for the Titans once again in Week 8, while LeGarrette Blount took over the NFL rushing touchdown lead and Jonathan Stewart continued his strong comeback from injury with two touchdowns. Defensively, T.J. Ward was a one-man highlight reel for the Broncos and Jairus Byrd led New Orleans to a big upset win at home.

Carolina Panthers
- TE Ed Dickson played but did not record any statistics as the Panthers earned their second win of the season with a 30-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Carolina travels to Los Angeles this week to face the Rams on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT.
- RB Jonathan Stewart scored two touchdowns for the second time in as many games since returning from injury, finishing with 95 yards on 25 carries while also catching one pass for 25 yards. Stewart extended Carolina's lead to 14-0 in the first quarter with a two-yard score, and then to 21-0 in the second after he found the end zone from one yard out. Stewart now has 180 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 34 carries in his last two games after he missed the previous three with an injury.

Chicago Bears
- C Hroniss Grasu is on the Reserved/Injured list with a torn ACL and will not play this season.
- OL Kyle Long was inactive with a shoulder injury in the Bears' 20-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, his first missed game of the season. Long had started the first seven games at right guard, and his status remains uncertain as Chicago enters its Week 9 bye.
- OL Jake Fisher played off the bench as the Bengals tied the Washington Redskins, 27-27, in overtime in a game played overseas in London, England. Fisher and the Bengals have their bye in Week 9.
- S T.J. Ward had a very active game in the Broncos' 27-19 win over the San Diego Chargers, leading the team with 10 tackles, seven solo, and adding an interception, a sack and two quarterback hits. Ward picked off Phillip Rivers early in the third quarter for his first interception of the year and returned it 23 yards before being pushed out of bounds. Ward has been one of the better safeties in all of football this season, as he leads the Broncos with 52 tackles, 42 solo, and has also forced three fumbles with a sack and an interception. The Oregon alum was also named a defensive captain by his teammates earlier this week. The Broncos, tied with Oakland at 6-2 for the AFC West lead, will face off with the Raiders on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday Night Football (NBC).

- DT Haloti Ngata was inactive with a shoulder injury for the third straight week and did not play in the Lions' 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans. Ngata did practice both last week and this week, so he has a chance to return to action when the Lions travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
- S Eddie Pleasant made two solo tackles in Houston's 20-13 win over the Detroit Lions. Pleasant and the Texans are on a bye in Week 9.
- OLB Tony Washington Jr. is currently on the Texans' Reserved/Injured list.
- CB Terrance Mitchell played in his first game of the season for the Chiefs but did not record any statistics in the 30-14 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Kansas City hosts Jacksonville on Sunday at 10 a.m.
- WR De'Anthony Thomas ran for two yards on two carries against the Colts.
- CB Troy Hill and the Rams were on a bye in Week 8 and will face off with the Carolina Panthers at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.
- LB Kiko Alonso, LB Spencer Paysinger and the Dolphins had a bye in Week 8. Miami hosts the New York Jets on Sunday at 10 a.m.
- CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is on the Reserved/Injured list after suffering an ACL injury in training camp and will not play this season.
- DE Dion Jordan remains on the Active/Non Football Injury list as he works his way back from a knee injury.
- RB LeGarrette Blount scored a touchdown for the fourth straight game and the seventh time in eight games this season in a 41-25 win over the Buffalo Bills, finishing with 43 yards on 18 carries with the score. Blount scored from one yard out late in the third quarter against the Bills, and now leads the NFL with nine rushing touchdowns this season. Blount is tied for second in the league with 20.1 carries per game, and is fifth in rushing with 609 yards on 161 attempts. The Patriots have a bye in Week 9.

- S Patrick Chung made five tackles, four solo, in the win over the Bills.
- S Jairus Byrd led the Saints with 10 tackles, eight solo, in a 25-20 win against the Seattle Seahawks, his first double-digit tackle effort of the season. Byrd has 34 tackles, 23 solo, with one pass defensed in seven games this season. New Orleans will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
- C Max Unger made his seventh straight start at center playing against his former team, helping the Saints run for 123 yards against one of the top run defenses in the league.
- RB Kenjon Barner ran for nine yards on three carries in a 29-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Barner also caught one pass for five yards. The Eagles will take on the New York Giants on the road on Sunday at 10 a.m.
- DL Taylor Hart was inactive against the Cowboys after being resigned by the team earlier in the week. Hart was previously with San Francisco after starting the year with the Eagles.
- WR Josh Huff played against the Cowboys but was released on Friday after being arrested earlier in the week and is now a free agent.
- RB Byron Marshall is currently on the Eagles' practice squad.
- LB Joe Walker is on the Injured/Reserved list and will not play this season.
- QB Kellen Clemens did not see the field in the Chargers' 27-19 loss to the Denver Broncos. San Diego plays the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1:25 p.m.
- OT Tyler Johnstone is on San Diego's Reserved/Injured list with an undisclosed injury.
- DL Arik Armstead, DL DeForest Buckner and the 49ers had a bye in Week 8 and will get back to action on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. against the New Orleans Saints.
- OL Alex Balducci is currently on the 49ers' practice squad.
- FB Will Tukuafu was resigned by the Seahawks for the third time this season and was active in Week 8 but did not record any statistics in a 25-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Seattle hosts the Buffalo Bills at 5:30 p.m. on Monday Night Football (ESPN)
- TE Brandon Williams played but did not record any statistics against the Saints.
- QB Marcus Mariota continued his recent tear in a 36-22 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 18-of-22 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns with a 148.1 passer rating while also running for 11 yards on three carries. Mariota hit Kendall Wright for a 36-yard touchdown strike in the second quarter and then found Rishard Matthews from four yards out in the third quarter to help the Titans improve to 4-4 on the season. The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner with the Ducks has been stellar in his last four games, throwing for 949 yards with 10 touchdowns and just one interception while completing 77-of-112 passes (68.8 percent) and also running for 149 yards on just 19 carries. Mariota and the Titans will look to get above .500 this week when they travel to San Diego to play the 3-5 Chargers on Sunday at 1:25 p.m.

BC Lions
- RB Jeremiah Johnson is currently in his third CFL season and first as a Lion. Johnson has totaled 769 yards on 130 carries with seven touchdowns in 10 games this season. Johnson ran for 101 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in his most recent game against Sasketchewan, and had a monster performance on Sept. 9 against Montreal running for 159 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries while averaging 9.9 yards per rush. Johnson has now ran for more than 100 yards in back-to-back games.
- LB Bo Lokombo is in his third CFL season with the Lions and has 18 total tackles in 17 games this season.
- QB Jeremiah Masoli is enjoying a strong year in his fourth season with Hamilton. Masoli has completed 230-of-332 (69.3 percent) passes for 2,695 yards this season while tossing 15 touchdowns. Masoli threw for 359 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 27-of-41 passes against Ottawa on Oct. 21, and has run for 180 yards and six touchdowns on 44 carries this season. Masoli was held to a limited role in the most recent game against Edmonton with the return of quarterback Zach Collaros, but still found the end zone with a 21-yard run.
- QB Vernon Adams Jr. is in his first season with the Alouettes after leading college football in passer efficiency with the Ducks in 2015. Adams has played extensively at quarterback for the Alouettes the last two games, throwing for 106 yards while completing 11-of-14 passes against Calgary on Oct. 30 after completing 11-of-24 passes for 117 yards with a touchdown and an interception on Oct. 22 against Saskatchewan. The TD was his first passing score of his professional career. Adams also has one rushing touchdown in 14 games this season.
- DB John Boyett is in his second season with the Redblacks and has made 38 total tackles with an interception and two sacks in 11 games, but is currently on the six-game injury list. Boyett picked up his first interception of the year on September 1 against Montreal.
