Ducks To Play Home-And-Home With Texas Tech

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon's future nonconference schedule include foes from the ACC, Big Ten and SEC, to which the Ducks have added a home-and-home series with an opponent from the Big 12.
The UO football team will play at Texas Tech in 2023 and host the Red Raiders in Autzen Stadium in 2024, in an agreement reached this summer. The game in Lubbock, Texas, will be played Sept. 9, 2023, and the two teams will meet in Eugene on Sept. 7, 2024.
Oregon, which opens preseason camp for the 2016 campaign next Monday, is 2-0 all-time against Texas Tech, with wins in 1991 and 1992. In 2015, both teams ranked in the top five nationally in scoring offense; Texas Tech was second with 45.1 points per game, and the Ducks were fifth at 43 points per game.
"We are excited to add another Power Five school to our home schedule," UO athletic director Rob Mullens said. "Consistent with our scheduling philosophy, we want to continue to attract the best nonconference opponents willing to play at Autzen Stadium."
The Ducks are about to embark upon a season in which they'll face ACC opponent Virginia at home on Sept. 10, and Big Ten foe Nebraska on the road Sept. 17. The Cornhuskers will complete the home-and-home series at Autzen Stadium in 2017.
The UO football program is slated to open the 2019 season in the AdvoCare Classic against Auburn of the SEC in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Ducks have a home-and-home scheduled with Ohio State in 2020-21, and are scheduled to host BYU in 2022.
Along with Texas Tech, the Ducks also have a home-and-home with Hawaii in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The third and final nonconference foe each of those seasons has yet to be finalized.
For the Texas Tech series, game time and TV details will be finalized by the home conference for each matchup; the road team's conference will provide the game officials. The contract for the matchup includes a $400,000 guarantee to be paid to each road team, which will be provided a minimum 2,500 tickets for its fans.
