How it Happened: For the second time in as many days, the duo of Tobita and Sangwan were one set away from elimination, and for the second time the pair rallied.
After winning in three sets in Sunday's semifinals, Tobita and Sangwan set up a match with conference foes Olivia Hauger and Karla Popovic of California.
The Golden Bear duo earned the No. 1 overall seed in the doubles bracket downing the Duck doubles pair of Julia Eshet and Rifanty Kahfiani on their way to the finals.
The 11th-ranked Cal pair opened the match winning the first set 6-4, but Tobita and Sangwan fought back to force a deciding third set ultimately winning the match 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(6).
What This Means: The regional doubles title is the first in program history for the Ducks. It also secures an automatic bid for the Duck duo to this year's ITA Fall Nationals on Nov. 1 in Indian Wells, Calif.
Quotable: Alison Silverio, Head Coach
