4 - Wednesday at Cal, Dana Altman tied Steve Belko (1956-71) for fourth in UO career coaching victories at Oregon with 179. He is one win back of W.J. Reinhart (180/1923-35) for third.
5 - The Ducks lead the nation at 6.9 blocks per game, and also lead the nation in total blocks with 199.
THREE DOT NOTES FROM WEDNESDAY
Dillon Brooks hit a last-second game-winning three-pointer for the second time this season Wednesday night against Cal (the first came Dec. 28 against UCLA), but it wasn't the only noteworthy happening of the night ... With 22 points, Brooks finished the game with 1,440 career points. In Oregon history, only the legendary Ron Lee scored more career points by the end of his junior season than Brooks. The Ducks' career leader in scoring, Lee had 1,527 points by the end of his junior season … Wednesday marked the 82nd career win that Casey Benson has played in as a Duck. Only Johnathan Loyd (97/2010-14) and E.J. Singler (89/2009-13) have appeared in more Oregon victories than Benson.
LAST TIME VS. STANFORD
Oregon made history by winning its school-record 16th straight game in a row, a 69-52 victory over Stanford before a sellout crowd of 12,364 in Matthew Knight Arena on Jan. 21. The Ducks led for all but the first couple minutes, using an 11-0 run to take the lead for good after Stanford scored the first five points. With Dillon Brooks sidelined by a foot injury he suffered two days earlier against Cal, Oregon spread the offense around, getting its first five field goals from the five different starters, the last a three-pointer by Dylan Ennis to make it 14-7. Later in the first, Chris Boucher made a three-pointer to cap a 9-0 run for a 40-20 lead, before Stanford made two free throws to go into the break down 40-22. Oregon's defense helped the Ducks continue to lengthen the lead after halftime. Stanford, which played without star Reid Travis, scored on four of its first five possessions to get within 45-30, but the Cardinal then went another 8:03 without a field goal. During that stretch, Payton Pritchard hit a three-pointer for a 55-32 lead, Oregon's largest to that point. The Ducks eventually led by as many as 25, at 64-39 after a Tyler Dorsey three-pointer. Boucher led the Ducks with 16 points and 10 rebounds, his second double-double this season, and Ennis added 15 points. Pritchard had a well-rounded game with six points, seven assists and a career-high eight rebounds.
FINISHING STRONG
Under coach Dana Altman, Oregon has a 44-17 record (.721) during the second half of Pac-12 play. That breaks down to 4-5 in 2011, 7-2 in 2012, 5-4 in 2013, 7-2 in 2014, 8-1 in 2015, 7-2 in 2016 and 6-1 in 2017. Only Arizona (47) has won more over the last six seasons.
"O" CANADA
Three of the Ducks' top four scorers are Canadian: Dillon Brooks (15.7 ppg), Chris Boucher (12.2 ppg) and, Dylan Ennis (11.2 ppg). They are the latest in a recent line of Ducks, most from the Toronto area, to hail from the Great White North. The northern flock:
* Olu Ashaolu (Toronto, 2012)
* Devoe Joseph (Toronto, 2012)
* Richard Amardi (Toronto, 2014)
* Jason Calliste (Scarborough, Ont., 2014)
* Dillon Brooks (Mississauga, Ont., 2015-17)
* Chris Boucher (Montreal, 2016-17)
* Dylan Ennis (Brampton, Ont., 2016-17)
CANADIANS FLY FLAG LAST TWO GAMES
Oregon's three Canadians scored 53 of Oregon's 68 points Wednesday against California (including Dillon Brooks' game-winning three-pointer). That performance came on the heels of Oregon honoring the three Canadians (two seniors) on the roster with the playing of "Oh Canada" prior to Oregon's last home game versus Colorado (a 101-73 rout on Feb. 18), the imports from the north responded by scoring 61 points with 16 rebounds and six blocks. Brooks led the charge with 23 points, Dylan Ennis added 20 and Chris Boucher scored 18. The trio was a combined 22-of-34 from the field (64.7 percent), including 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from three-point range.
