Peterson wins second straight national honor, also named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week

Eugene, Ore. – Junior David Peterson has been named a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week for the second consecutive week following his dominating effort against Santa Clara in a 2-1 win on Friday, March 10. Peterson was also named teh Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.
The Ducks' lefty picked up the win after holding the Broncos scoreless through 7.1 innings while striking out 14 hitters. Peterson fanned multiple batters in four of his innings, including striking out the side twice, and allowed just three hits while walking one.
The award is Peterson's second in as many weeks and the third of his career. Last week he earned the honor after fanning a school-record 17 hitters over eight innings of a 1-0 win against Mississippi State where he allowed just three hits and no walks. Over his last two starts, Peterson hasn't allowed a run on just six hits in 15.1 innings while striking out 31 batters and walking just one.
He earned his first Collegiate Baseball honor after beating UC Santa Barbara in the series clinching game last March.
