14 FORMER OREGON FOOTBALL PLAYERS PARTICIPATED IN THURSDAY'S PRO DAY IN FRONT OF PRO SCOUTS, INCLUDING 12 FROM THE 2016 SQUAD
EUGENE, Ore. - Fourteen former Oregon football players participated in Pro Day on Thursday afternoon in the Moshofsy Center, including 12 from the 2016 squad, running through drills and showcasing their talents in front of roughly 32 pro scouts ahead of next month's NFL Draft (April 27-29).
Tight end Pharaoh Brown's workout was the most anticipated of the day. Brown did not participate in the bench press after pushing up 24 reps at the NFL Combine, the most among tight ends, but he did run the majority of the remaining drills. He topped out at 4.78 seconds in the 40-yard dash, looking smooth and healthy in his stride throughout the day, and also posted a time of 4.47 in the 20-yard shuttle and 7.24 in the three-cone drill.
"I feel like I ran pretty well," Brown said. "I just ran as fast as I could. I'm just a football player, not a workout guy, so I just run what I run. I'm never going to run a 40 again after this process, so just to get that over with and have it go well is a good feeling. I just wanted to get out there and compete and do the best I could."
After going through some longer throws, Prukop and the rest of the group moved down the field for some red zone opportunities. All three tight ends caught the ball well, going up for passes in the corner of the end zone and showcasing their ability to get two feet down in bounds, as opposed to the one foot required in the college game.
Prukop also performed well in the individual drills earlier in the day, running 4.72 in the 40-yard dash and posting a long mark of 10'1" in the long jump. His time of 6.78 in the three-cone drill was by far the best of the day.
Receiver Dwayne Stanford did not run through any drills in the Mo, but did participate in the bench press, putting up 21 reps. Running back Steven Maines was a full participant, running routes out of the backfield.
The final offensive player participating was lineman Cam Hunt, who went through lineman drills with defensive lineman T.J. Daniel. Daniel put up the top bench press mark of the day with 25 reps, while Hunt was right behind with 24. Both players also went through position drills, in which they were tested on their lateral movement and reaction.
Johnny Ragin III and DeQuan McDowell, both linebackers, and safety Reggie Daniels all participated in defensive drills together. Ragin, coming off an injury-riddled senior season, looked crisp in his movement with a 4.76 40-yard dash and the fastest 20-yard shuttle of the day at 4.04. McDowell topped out at 4.96 in the 40 and put up 13 reps in the bench press, while Daniels had the top long jump of the day at 10'2" and the fastest 40 time at 4.54.
Kicker Matt Wogan rounded out the group of players from the 2016 squad that participated in Pro Day, consistently going out of the end zone on kickoffs, as he routinely did during his tenure with the Ducks.
Returning to Eugene for Pro Day were defensive lineman Christian French and linebacker Tyson Coleman. French ran 4.90 in the 40-yard dash, while Coleman topped out at 4.65.
Notable: Daniel ran a good 40 time for a defensive lineman, topping out at 5.04 seconds ... Bayliss put up 17 reps in the bench press and ran a 4.81 40 time ... Mundt ran identical 4.74 times in his two 40 attempts ... Head coach Willie Taggart was in attendance for Pro Day, as well as the majority of his coaching staff ...

After going through the workouts, Brown joined fellow tight ends Evan Baylis and Johnny Mundt in position drills, running routes and catching passes from quarterback prospect Dakota Prukop. Prukop went through 20-25 different throws and patterns, rotating through the three tight ends and some additional receivers that participated as well..@PharaohsDream getting some work in during @oregonfootball's pro day #FutureProDucks pic.twitter.com/WlR8j5vcXR

"I felt, overall, they were really happy with what they saw," Prukop said of the scouts. "I wish we could have had about 20 more throws; we didn't get to flex any big comebacks or 20-yard digs that are showcased in the NFL, but not as much in college. So I would have liked to get to that, but hey, that will all come at some point."Some throwing drills now with @DakotaPrukop and @PharaohsDream #FutureProDucks pic.twitter.com/ZpZ7l5rGlI
