Local food bank to benefit from Ducks’ final showcase of the off-season.
EUGENE – A tribute to the state's armed forces, as well as a means to replenish the local food bank, once again serves as the backdrop for the University of Oregon's annual Spring Game that will offer a preview of the excitement that is in store under first-year head coach Willie Taggart.
Oregon's two-hour Bi-Mart Spring Game presented by Pepsi is scheduled to kickoff at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 29) in Autzen Stadium, culminating the program's 15 spring practices.
Admission to the intrasquad scrimmage will be three non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Food for Lane County. Spectators will be allowed entrance into the stadium at 10 a.m. through the north, east and south gates, as well as the southwest ramp near the Casanova Center.
The scrimmage also will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks and broadcast on select Oregon IMG Sports Network radio affiliates, including KUJZ in Eugene (95.3 FM), 750 the Game in Portland (750 AM and 102.9 FM), KCMX in Medford (880 AM), KQEN in Roseburg (1240 AM), KRJW in Klamath Falls (1240 AM), and Tunein Radio via the Ducks' official website, www.goducks.com.
Below is a timeline for the day's activities:
Adding to the festivities will be the Ducks' baseball team, which entertains Arizona State at 2 p.m. in PK Park, while the sixth-ranked Oregon women's softball team also will be in action on campus as it hosts intrastate rival Oregon State at 1 p.m. at Jane Sanders Stadium.
For the eighth year in a row, the spring's final scrimmage will feature the recognition of the nation's armed services. Most of the pregame, halftime and postgame festivities will include participation from various branches of the military, including a joint service color guard and ceremonies to honor the men and women from the state and their families for the sacrifices of their time overseas, as well as a halftime flag-folding ceremony.
Included in the pre-game activities taking place inside the Moshofsky Center will be military exhibits and interactive displays, with doors closing at 11 a.m.
Festivities outside will include a pre-game flyover by a pair of Oregon Air National Guard F-15 jets and Coast Guard helicopters.
Following the conclusion of the Spring Game, all Oregon players will give their jerseys to approximately 100 uniformed men and women representing all branches of the military during a post-game ceremony in the middle of the field.
Food For Lane County
In addition to offering the first glimpse of the school's 2017 football team, the Spring Game also will provide the opportunity to help replenish the county's local food bank. Fans are asked to contribute three non-perishable food items per admission, with the proceeds to be donated to Food for Lane County. Proceeds from last year's Spring Game resulted in the accumulation of more than 59,079 pounds of food and close to $1,000 in cash donations to the county food bank.
Military Appreciation
A limited number of free tickets to Saturday afternoon's Oregon baseball game vs. Arizona State and the Ducks' softball game against Oregon State will be available to service personnel with the accompaniment of their military ID. Baseball tickets will be available at the Autzen Stadium North Ticket Building, beginning at 10 a.m., with softball tickets available at the Jane Sanders Stadium ticket office beginning at 11:30 a.m.
In addition, the Duck Store at Autzen Stadium will offer 20 percent discounts on selected merchandise for past and present military personnel when accompanied with their military ID, with the venue opening at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Transportation
Those in attendance for Saturday's Spring Game are encouraged to take advantage of free Sports Shuttles to and from Autzen Stadium, with departures from South Eugene High School (19th and Patterson) and the northwest parking lot of Valley River Center beginning at 9 a.m. Buses will continue to transport fans to Autzen Stadium until the start of the scrimmage. They will not return to the Park-and-Ride locations until after the conclusion of the Spring Game and will continue to do so for approximately 30 minutes. The shuttles will not be available for spectators planning to remain for Oregon's baseball game.

At the other end of the spectrum are five players who were a part of the program's first-of-two national championship appearances following the 2010 season – Mark Asper, Sam Doman, Talmadge Jackson III, Jeff Maehl, and Kenny Rowe.
