Ducks to Host Stanford, Cal in Final Homestand

EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 37 University of Oregon women's tennis team will host the final two home matches of the season this weekend with No. 10 Stanford this Friday at 1:30 p.m., while No. 18 California will make an appearance at the Student Tennis Center on Saturday for a match beginning at noon.
The Ducks enter the final weekend at home with an overall record of 11-7 and 4-2 in conference play. At home, Oregon has a record of 5-2. Against nationally-ranked opponents, the Ducks are 3-4.

The Opponents: The Cardinal is currently ranked No. 10, and have an overall record 14-1 and 6-0 in conference play.
Stanford is on a 10-match win streak, making their season the sixth straight double-digit in-season winning streak since 2010.
The Cardinal's sole loss of the season came at the hands of the Florida Gators Feb. 19 in Gainesville, Fla., 4-1.
Every member of the Cardinal's singles lineup is ranked, while two doubles pairs are nationally recognized.

Last Time Out: The Ducks went 2-1 on a three-match road trip that sent them to Fresno, Calif., (4-1, UO), Tempe, Ariz., (4-1, ASU), and Tucson (4-3, UO).
Against Fresno, Oregon's 4-1 win snapped the Bulldogs 18-match win streak at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. Fresno State hadn't fallen at home since Feb. 21, 2015 against Wichita State. Under their head coach Ryan Stotland, the team is now 39-3 at home.
The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point with 6-4, 6-3 wins in the No. 2 and 3 position over Marlou Kluiving and Julia Eshet, and Janvhi Clark and Nia Rose, respectively. The Ducks rallied however, as Alyssa Tobita, Kluiving, Rose, and Eshet all picked up singles wins.
In Tempe, the Ducks fell 4-1 to the No. 42 Sun Devils with the lone point being contributed by Kluiving as she bested Savannah Slaysman 7-5, 6-2.
Against Arizona, the Ducks won in electric fashion at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
In doubles, Kluiving and Tobita got the first win with a 6-1 result over Maggie Cohen and Marie Van Aelst. However, the Wildcats would claim the next two, clinching the doubles point. Lauren Marker and Paris Corley defeated sophomore Shweta Sangwan and freshman Rifanty Kahfiani 6-2. Camila Wesbrooks and Sophia Thomas then took down Rose and Clark 6-4.
In singles, No. 119 Corley moved the score to 2-0, Arizona, as she defeated Tobita in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4. Kluiving earned Oregon's first point of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Thomas. The Ducks started their comeback as sophomore Daniela Nasser took down Cohen 6-1, 6-4, evening up the score 2-2. Eshet pulled the Ducks ahead 3-2 with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Van Aelst. Arizona evened things up yet again, as Sangwan fell in the third set to No. 29 Marker 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. It all came down to a tiebreaker third set in the match between Rose and Wesbrooks. The Ducks would end up victorious, with the final score moving to 4-3 thanks to Rose's 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7-1) win.

At 66-33 overall, Kluving has officially taken over the fifth highest singles wins in program history, besting Oregon great Courtney Nagle's record of (00-04') 65-56 overall. Krissy Barger is fourth overall at 72-42.
Kluving is Oregon's top singles player at 20-4 this season, while she is also in the top doubles team at 19-6 overall with Eshet. Eshet is second overall for most singles win this season at 18-6. The duo of Sangwan and Tobita have grabbed the second-most doubles wins this season at 17-6.
