One Current, 12 Pro Ducks Set for IAAF World Championships

Current Duck sprinter Ariana Washington and 12 #ProDucks will be in action at the IAAF World Championships, which begin Friday at Olympic Stadium in London
EUGENE, Ore. – One current member of the Oregon track and field program and 12 former Ducks now in the professional ranks will compete against the best in the world beginning this weekend at the IAAF World Championships, a 10-day meet that kicks off Friday at Olympic Stadium in London.
Sprinter Ariana Washington will be the lone representative from the current Duck squad, competing in the 100 meters. Twelve former Ducks, including recently departed Deajah Stevens and Kyree King, will join Washington in London. Of the 13 total athletes from UO in London, nine of them will don the red, white and blue for Team USA, while three more will compete for Canada and one will be in action for Australia.

What to Watch For (all times PT)
Friday, Aug. 4: The lone Duck in action on Friday, the first day of the World Championships, will be the Ducks' lone Australia representative, Buckman, in the opening heats of the 1,500 meters (11:35 AM).
Saturday, Aug. 5: Stevens and Washington will open up in the 100 meter heats at approximately 3:45 AM, while Weir will also be in action in the morning session in the hammer throw. In the afternoon session, the women's 1,500-meter semifinals (Buckman) will run at about 11:35 AM.
Sunday, Aug. 6: Olympic gold medalist Phyllis Francis will run the women's 400 meter heats (3:55 AM) in the morning session, and the women's 100-meter semifinals (Stevens, Washington) will take place in the afternoon session at 11:10 AM, with the final set for 1:50 PM. On the men's side, Allen and Cabral will run the initial heats of the 110 hurdles in the morning around 5:15 AM, with the semifinals in the afternoon around 12:10 PM.
Monday, Aug. 7: King, the 2017 Pac-12 Champion in the 100 and 200 meters, will compete in the men's 200-meter heats in the afternoon (10:30 AM), and the women's hammer throw final (Weir) will follow shortly after at 11 AM. The women's semifinal of the 400 meters (Francis) will be at 12:55 PM and the women's 1,500 final (Buckman) will run around 1:50 PM, with the men's final of the 110 hurdles (Allen & Cabral) sandwiched in-between at 1:30 PM.
Tuesday, Aug. 8: Stevens, the U.S. champion in the 200 meters, will get her first chance to go after the world title in that event when the women's 200-meter heats begin around 11:30 AM.
Wednesday, Aug. 9: Jenkins will be first Duck to compete on the sixth day of action in London, running the opening heats of the 5,000 meters (12:05 PM). The semifinals of the men's 200 meters (King) will take place at approximately 12:55 PM, and the women's 400-meter final (Francis) is slated for 1:50 PM.
Thursday, Aug. 10: Hostetler, the lone male thrower representing UO, will open up the men's javelin in the afternoon, while LeBlanc will be in action in the 800-meter heats around 11:25 AM. Centrowitz, the 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the 1,500 meters, will be joined by Gregorek when those initial heats kick off around 12:25 PM. The women's 200-meter final (Stevens) is scheduled for 1:05 PM, while the men's final will run around 1:52 PM.
Friday, Aug. 11: In the afternoon session, the women's 800-meter semis (LeBlanc) are set for 11:35 AM, while Centrowitz and Gregorek will hope to run in the 1,500 semifinals around 12:10 PM. The women's final of the 200 meters (Stevens) will wrap up Day 8 at approximately 1:50 PM.
Saturday, Aug. 12: Both the women's and the men's 4x100 relays will take place on Day 9, with Stevens, Washington and King all in contention to run on those squads. The initial heats will be in the morning session around 2:35 and 2:55 AM, with the finals wrapping up the afternoon session at 1:30 and 1:50 PM. The final of the men's javelin (Hostetler) will also be in the afternoon (12:15 PM), as well as the men's 5,000 final (Jenkins, 12:20 PM).
