Senior Taylor Agost has been named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week after hitting .619 with 28 kills on 42 swings and only two errors in three matches over the weekend
EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon volleyball right-side hitter Taylor Agost has been named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week after a sensational weekend in the Nike Classic, the conference announced on Monday.
The latest AVCA coaches poll was also released on Monday, with the Ducks climbing three spots after a dominating weekend to No. 11.
Agost was nearly perfect across three matches while leading the Ducks to a trio of sweeps, hitting an astounding .619 in nine sets with 28 kills on 42 attempts and only two errors. The senior added eight blocks while earning tournament MVP honors.
The native of Happy Valley, Ore., was especially efficient in the Ducks' first two matches of the weekend, sweeps of Cal Poly and No. 23 Wichita State, hitting better than .700 and establishing a career-high for hitting percentage in back-to-back matches. Agost hit .733 with 11 kills on 15 swings without an error against Cal Poly, and then topped that a night later with nine kills on 12 attempts without an error against the Shockers.
This is the first career Pac-12 weekly honor for Agost, the first for the Ducks this season and the 35th all-time weekly honor for Oregon..@taylor_agost recorded kills on kills on KILLS this week!

The Ducks' No. 11 ranking in the latest AVCA coaches poll is their highest since being ranked 11th on August 31, 2015. Oregon has now been ranked in the top 15 for three consecutive polls.
Oregon (7-1), riding a six-match winning streak, has this week off from competition before it opens Pac-12 play against Oregon State next Tuesday, September 19 (7 p.m. PT) at Matthew Knight Arena.
