At the same time, student-athletes will continue to benefit from third-party NIL agreements, creating more pathways for support than ever before. This moment presents a unique opportunity to secure the resources needed to elevate our programs, expand access, and ensure every Duck can thrive in competition, in the classroom, and beyond.

As we enter this new era of college athletics, your support is more important than ever. Together, we can ensure Oregon Athletics remains a place where every student-athlete has the opportunity to compete at the highest level, grow, and succeed. Your support will make a lasting impact in three key areas:
|
|
The House settlement replaces traditional scholarship limits with roster-based limits. In response, Oregon Athletics will be able to provide additional athletic scholarship opportunities, projecting a minimum increase of $2.5M annually. These scholarships support student-athletes academically and athletically while ensuring every program has the resources to compete at the highest level. With your contributions, we can extend financial assistance to resident and nonresident students, helping them focus on education and sport. |
||
|
|
As of July 1, Oregon Athletics will fully fund and distribute $20.5M to student-athletes in additional scholarships and revenue sharing, which represents the cap for the 2025 - 2026 academic year. This investment reflects our responsibility to adapt as college athletics evolves while maintaining a focus on the student-athlete experience. Your support is vital in helping us attract and retain top talent, ensuring the University of Oregon remains a world-class destination. |
||
|
|
Oregon Athletics is dedicated to providing coaches, student-athletes, and all 20 programs with the resources needed to compete for Conference and National Championships. As the college landscape changes, our mission is to sustain excellence through innovation, investment, and the backing of our supporters. By generating the revenue required, we uphold Oregon’s tradition of success while advancing academic and athletic achievement. Together, we strengthen the foundation for future championships and the next generation of Ducks. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the House Settlement?
The House settlement, a result of three major class-action lawsuits, revolutionizes how college athletics operates. Here are the key elements to the settlement:
Revenue Sharing: The settlement allows schools to share up to approximately 22% of the athletic media, ticket, and sponsorship revenue with student-athletes, which is $20.5M during the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
Elimination of Scholarship Limits: The settlement replaces traditional scholarship caps with new roster-based limits, giving athletic departments greater flexibility in how they can support each program.
Back Pay: Roughly $2.8 billion in damages will be paid by the NCAA and major conferences to former student-athletes who competed between 2016 and 2024 for denial of name, image, and likeness opportunities. An estimated $1.2M will be taken out of Oregon’s annual NCAA distribution for the next 10 years.
How does this impact Oregon Athletics?
In addition to paying $1.2M per year in back damages over the next 10 years, to remain competitive, Oregon must fully fund the allowable $20.5M in revenue sharing with student-athletes in 2025 - 2026. Of that amount, $2.5M will be dedicated to expanding scholarship opportunities, creating an additional 41.4 scholarships for our student-athletes.
With an expected annual increase of $20.5M and as the costs of college athletics continue to rise, the need for sustained and increased support from our community of Ducks has never been greater.
I love my Ducks. How can I help?
Oregon Athletics is extremely fortunate to have one of the most passionate fan bases in the country. We have experienced an extraordinary rise to become one of the premier athletic departments while doing so with a smaller football stadium and alumni base compared to other top collegiate programs.
Now is the time to build on our momentum:
- Philanthropic gifts to the Duck Athletic Fund support scholarships, student-athletes, and help maintain our competitive edge.
- Multi-year pledges are extremely beneficial, allowing Oregon Athletics to create a stable, predictable revenue stream to support our student-athletes while fostering a more intimate donor experience.
- By purchasing and renewing season tickets, you not only provide vital financial support but also help create a powerful home-field advantage.
- Engaging with the Oregon Ducks on social media can amplify our reach and make a real difference.
- Lastly, encourage other Ducks to get involved through the activities outlined above. Let’s continue to grow the flock!
